The antioxidant activity and total phenolic content of Sonneratia ovata Back, a mangrove plant, were investigated in this study. Methanol was used to extract the leaf, fruit, stem bark, root S. Back. assay conducted using scavenging radical DPPH, measured following Folin Ciaocalteu method. from leaves Back presented highest than root, fruit. IC50 4.07 mg/L, 25.94 100.94 195.83 respectively. leaf (52.00 mgGAE/g) higher fruit (14.06 mgGAE/g). This study suggested that methanolic contained potential source natural antioxidants more other parts.
